PiNKII grew up in a small town and had decided to become a Japanese idol in high school. After moving to Japan and accomplishing that goal, she had realized that she was too eccentric for the “squeaky clean” image pushed on girls in this subculture. She started Djing Trap Music in Clubs across Tokyo and even created a name for herself on her Japanese youtube channel that reached over 100,000 subscribers. Even so, she was pushed again into a box and was tied to an outdated image of femininity; this made her decide to create a world of her own, in which she mixes themes commonly found in hip-hop, with sugary sweet sounds of Japanese pop and anime.
